Dr. Ma. Nerissa Masangkay Abara is an Associate Professor at the UP Diliman Institute of Mathematics, where she earned her BS, MS, and PhD in Mathematics. Her research focuses on Matrix Analysis and Combinatorial Matrix Theory. She teaches courses in linear algebra as well as the general education course Math in Everyday Life, and has mentored numerous undergraduate and master's students as a thesis adviser.
Dr. Masangkay Abara served as Deputy Director of the Institute of Mathematics from 2010 to 2017 before serving as College Secretary of the UP Diliman College of Science from 2018 to 2025.
The Assistant University Registrar
Dr. Rovin B. Santos is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Mathematics, University of the Philippines Diliman. His research focuses on color symmetry, tiling theory, mathematical crystallography, and graph theory. He has over 25 years of teaching experience in calculus, abstract algebra, and projective geometry. Dr. Santos has mentored both undergraduate and graduate students and served as the Institute of Mathematics' Service Courses Coordinator from 2013 to 2018.
The Assistant University Registrar for Academic Information System
Dr. Mario Carreon is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Computer Science. He has been teaching with the department since 2001 after graduating cum laude in BS Computer Science. He got his MSCS in 2006 in UP Diliman, his MPhil in Advanced Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, UK and finally his Doctor of Engineering degree at the Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Japan.
He has been involved with multiple DOST projects since 2012, and was the former head of the Utilities Management Team in 2011 to 2013, and the Deputy Director of the Diliman Information Office in 2019.
